"TOP training company"
27.05.2019 - Steinbeis is one of the most modern recycled paper mills in Europe and is committed to the concept of sustainability in all areas - not only in terms of location and production, but also in terms of training and further education. We are therefore particularly pleased to have received the "TOP Training Company" award from the Kiel Chamber of Industry and Commerce.
Ann Christin Hahn, Vice President of the Kiel Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK), took the opportunity to visit Glückstadt in person to thank the company for its commitment to training and to present it with the certificate and trophy for the "TOP Training Company" award. The award has now been presented for five years. Steinbeis is one of six companies to have been awarded the title. In her speech, the Vice President of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce praised the outstanding training concept, which includes a start-up programme for trainees, internships abroad and participation in a business simulation game. "Steinbeis' outstanding training concept creates a solid basis for companies to secure skilled labour in the future."
SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY TOWARDS THE REGION
It naturally fills us with pride that our training programme is perceived so positively. After all, the personnel development of our employees and trainees is very important to us. We also see it as a social responsibility towards the region. The company currently employs over 320 people, 35 of whom are young people in training with us or studying for a degree. Part of our philosophy is to ensure that even underachieving pupils are given the chance of an apprenticeship. In order to draw attention to our training opportunities and engage in dialogue with interested parties, we have long-standing partnerships with schools, regularly take part in job fairs and offer applicant training. The fact that we are on the right track with this concept is reflected in the low drop-out rates and the extremely good performance of our trainees. Another reason to be proud. And to say thank you.
THIS WOULD NOT BE POSSIBLE WITHOUT THEIR TIRELESS COMMITMENT
The "TOP training company" award is clearly a team effort and would not be possible without the continuous commitment of the people involved. At the award ceremony, Managing Director Dr Volker Gehr therefore thanked his employees and trainees in his final speech: "We would like to thank our HR department - Ms Stoldt, Mr Biston - and our training professional Mr Brodersen for their excellent training work, which is reflected in such an award. I would also like to thank our internal trainers, who, in addition to their actual tasks, take intensive care of our trainees and actively contribute to ensuring that trainees repeatedly complete their training with excellent certificates. And of course, last but not least, to our trainees."
